Looks like our "Little Man" may be moving away

Wyatt Thomas our "Little Man"
Charlie works as a Service Advisor for Saturn and business hasn't been great lately. Michele was laid off while she was on Maternity Leave and her unemployment is running out. My dad's house has been for sale and sitting empty since he died two years ago. The cost of living is lower there and Charlie was offered an excellent job at a great dealership, sooooo it looks like our euphoric happiness with all the kids and grandkids close by may be coming to an end. They will be going to Ohio this week end to make sure my dad's house will work for them and the area is really what they want. They already have their house for sale (that doesn't mean anything though).
It's not like we thought it would last forever, after all Shawn is in the Army and Thomas & Natalie never planned on staying in Maryland but we never planned on staying here either. We just so love having them all together.
They can no longer afford to live here, he needs to take care of his family and he's missed Ohio since the day he left. They are wonderful parents and have been very generous with sharing their time and their son's time with us and we have no doubt that that will continue. It will just be a 6 hour drive instead of a 20 minute one.
I WILL NOT CRY, I WILL NOT CRY, I WILLLLL CRY

What We Won't Do For Our Grandchildren

Tom had a class to teach in Norfolk Virginia so we upgraded our hotel and stayed three days on the beach. It was great to be able to walk to the beach and boardwalk. I did the driving down since Tom had his heart cath the day before. It worked out great and then we stopped by and saw our niece and her new baby in Yorktown , VA on the way home. We seriously missed the "boys" (Wyatt & Jack). Our hope is to take all the grandkids together somewhere for a few days every year.

Ella "won" each of her cousins a prize!

Every time I think "I can't get THAT wet, I don't need my bathing suit"
Last year my cell phone was never quite right after leaving it in my shorts pocket

The boys each came to visit us when we got home
and what do Grandmas do?

Show Us Where You Live Friday-BATHS

http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/

We actually have four bathrooms, two "powder rooms" & two full baths. Since we live in a townhome with an open floor plan they are pretty much the same. I DID forget to take pictures of the "front" bath but I'm not home, I'm at the beach on vacation so I think you get the idea.

The Guest Bath

Towel Warmer
When our kids were younger I used to throw their towels in the dryer to warm them up

The Man Cave bathroom
sports rug, nobs, soap dish, dispenser, even a baseball bat made into a towel bar

actual baseballs as towel holders
